AB Psychology’s First Graduates
by: Norman Lou S. Padilla
It was four years ago when Bachelor of Arts major in Psychology was first offered at San Pedro College. It was one of the many new courses offered in that time. It was not a very popular course in SPC as only five students were enrolled in the course. Yet as time went by, AB Psychology caught the interest of many students. From an original cast of five, the population rose to not less than two hundred.
In this school year, the Bachelor of Arts department will be producing it’s first Psychology Major graduates. After four grueling years of studying, research and endless requirements, forty-nine seniors will be bidding their college days good-bye. They will now be facing a new world, a world that is far apart from what they have known - the world of work. Yet even with that kind of pressure, these men and women of AB Psychology are eager and rearing to face the challenges this new world has to offer. At least that’s what more than 200 hours of On-the-Job-Training will do.
The graduation rites will be held on March 31, 1999 at the Central Bank Convention Hall. Only a few more days left and these able seniors will be walking down that golden aisle to receive their diplomas. From there, who knows what heights these men and women of AB Psychology will achieve. Yet wherever they may turn up, may it be for their own good.
With that thought in mind, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and sincerest good luck to all of you. You deserve it!

by: Norman Lou S. Padilla
The Association of Psychology Students decided not to be left behind in the upholding of this age-old tradition. Last August 14, 1998, The ASSOPSYCHS held its first Acquaintance Party at Larous by the Sea Resort in Talomo. The event was manned by the newly elected president of the ASSOPSYCHS, Norman Lou Padilla, and his fellow officers Farrah Peñafiel, Alexis Codilla, Jenifer Soliban, Aries Alensub, Janice Belarmino, Ahani Tamayo and Lyle Santos.
Almost all of the psychology students attended the said event. Students were treated to a whole day of fun and games coupled with sights and sounds that delighted everyone’s fancy. They were even treated to a variety of foods provided for by Mila’s lechon and everyone ate to their hearts content. Parlor games were even made more exciting by the prizes which were to the liking of the participants and left everyone wanting for more. Our coordinator Mrs. Carmelita Millete even joined in the festivities as she hosted a string of games of her own.
The event was highlighted by the Ms. Psychology pageant which was participated by four beautiful and talented ladies from the freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior psychology students. Ms. Nicole Matillac of the sophomores bagged the title of Ms. Psychology. First runner up was Ms. Issha Macasaet of the juniors, followed by Ms. Sandra Basalo of the seniors and third runner up was Ms. Milagros Nartea of the freshmen.
Indeed the event was a successful one as there was never a dull moment during the said event. Everyone in the place had a grand time partying all day and made some new friends in the process. When the day was through the participants left with a smile on their faces and fond memories of the said event. As a final note, this party has set the standard for other parties to follow.
